CINEWORLD

National Cinema, TV and Print Campaign

The Campaign

Imagine if a classic romcom and a TV ad campaign made a beautiful love child... Thats what this is! The full love story of our two lead characters Jane + Phil could only be fully appreciated by those seasoned cinema goers catching each of the instalments throughout the year. But to make sure , each 30 second spot had to have its own singular narrative whilst also feeding into the larger year-long storyline

Cineworld Unlimited Launch

Our Cineworld Unlimited campaign launched in spring as part of a 4-part, year long campaign across cinema, broadcast, print, digital and DOOH. The Pink Banana team, Twelve and Cineworld are back working together, paying homage to the cult classic 'Ground-Hog Day'. We follow Phil and Rita on a journey of a lifetime with the new Unlimited Cinema Card.

Media & Performance

The Drum's most recent news features two write ups about our latest Cineworld Unlimited Campaign by John McCarthy.

'Working in collaboration with award winning production house, Pink Banana Studios, the cyclical and fast-paced advert was produced in the style of a movie trailer, featuring an orchestral cover version of Sonny and Cher’s ‘I Got You Babe’, with vocals from Sarah Howells. The advert follows the life of main character Phil Connors (played by rising star and namesake, Phil Dunster; Murder on the Orient Express, Catastrophe), who lives a repetitive, mundane life, until Cineworld Unlimited presents him with a eureka moment, mirroring Bill Murray’s own turning point, where he comes to appreciate the possibilities of everyday life.'

Production

The campaign was spear headed by the creative duo of Pink Banana and Twelve Agency. To bring this script to screen, the immensely talented directors Liam & Grant joined the team alongside an 100 strong crew of some of the best industry. With a week of shooting across 12 different locations, the production brought 'Groundhog Day' to life with an entire ensemble of 24 dancers, popcorn angels, VFX and the budding romance between our very own Phil and Rita. Stay tuned for the following two more trailers to come!
